Hello everyone. I will go on record saying that this specific variant of Blue Eyes is definitely meant to dominate tournaments. The version I use for kccup is not built this way exactly. I have gotten top 4 meta weekly before and also the finals of a 150$ tournament with a similar version of Blue Eyes as this one. So i realized that this was the most consistent deck. During stream it was shown, that i had gotten some incredibly lucky top-decks, but off stream, there were definitely bricks and lackluster hands. Some i could survive, others i could not. The main focus behind this deck was to take advantage of having the biggest monster. The only way for my opponent to deal with a Blue Eyes is with backrow (such as Widespread Ruin/Mirror Wall/Drowning Mirror Force) or monster effects. So I ran some cards that eliminate both of these problems temporarily. This allowed me to be patient when getting stalled by spell/traps or more specifically Destiny HERO - Decider and to become aggressive when I had an opportunity to put pressure on my opponent.
Deflector: for Vampire Kingdom, Cosmic cyclone, econ, super rush, Mask Change.
Canadia: for all monster effect problem monsters that threaten to remove Blue Eyes.
Breaker at 1 (which I would say is excellent at 2) and Spirit of White at 3: to help push past backrow. In hindsight i should play 1 Breaker in the side as well. I started off with Destructotron, but that was before Breaker came out. When you are staring down as many Heroes as I had to face this day, you realize that the lifepoint cost for Destructotrons effect is not worth it. Breaker is superior here.
Water spirit: a great searchable tuner with Cosmo (or to summon Cosmo), able to revive with Azure eyes (even after you synchro summon) and birthright.
Luster Dragon: takes the place of 1 extra Blue Eyes (that is usually there to make 3 Blue Eyes) to destroy Decider and has the same benefits of being searchable with Cosmo (or to summon Cosmo) while also being revived with Azure Eyes, birthright, and silver’s cry.
The ratio of 2 Silvers/ 3 Birthright: Silver’s is a great top-deck but also clashes with deflector. Also I am only able to use Silver’s once per turn. Whereas with birthright I am able to revive all dragons as well as water spirit and summon canadias. The ability to spam multiple dragons from the grave in one turn hurts the opponent.
Azure Eyes: A key synchro for this deck that i loved to summon whenever It was needed. using the effect to summon during the standby phase and clogging the board is no issue. With every summon that is a Spirit of White, you banish spells/traps and it saves your birthright/silver’s cry while giving you monsters to tribute over. So I am able to to sit on my defense Azure Eyes and wait to banish as much backrow as possible before attacking for damage.
My conclusion of this deck is that it is great for this meta and against the best deck in the meta right now, which is Heroes. I expect it to change in the future as the meta changes and for kccup builds to look slightly different. Thank you for reading and have a great day ladies and gentlemen.
